The mission of the Hawai`i Nature Center is to foster awareness, appreciation and understanding of Hawai`i’s environment and to encourage wise stewardship of the Hawaiian Islands by educating children with an interactive and immersive approach. In 2014, over 4,990 participants visited the Hawai`i Nature Center in `Iao Valley and participated in activities that promoted responsible environmental stewardship from a local, native perspective. The interactive museum is temporarily closed, but the Hawai`i Nature Center’s educational and overnight programs are still very much going strong.
